Probiotech - industrial probiotics and prebiotics event

Probiotech, the professional prebiotics and probiotics event. Probiotech will answer development issues like scientific fact; regulation; market trends and technologies allowing industrial applications of prebiotics and probiotics. Probiotech 2010, held in Paris, France, the 22-23 of June, is now the major and must-attend industrial event on probiotics and prebiotics.

Place of meeting :

Nantes : West coast of France. Nantes along the Loire river and near the seacoast of France forms an outstanding tourist attraction.

Nantes

Nantes is the historical capital of the Dukes of Brittany, and became very wealthy in the 18th Century, thanks to the port and its flourishing trade. It is now a very attractive city with an important university and industrial centre, with a strong development in the biotechnologies to become one of a major European centre. Nantes has been nominated in 2003 and 2004 by the Time magazine and the Point as one of the «Best Place to Live» in Europe.

Gala diner on June the 23rd will be organized at the Château de la Pigossière

Background :

Context : The development of scientific solutions for functional foods, sports or infantile nutrition to enter the nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals’ markets becomes more and more strategic for the food / feed, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, especially since nutritional and health claims are now acting at the governments’ level.

As Prebiotic and Probiotic science has developed enormously during the last decade, they became one of the most challenging functional ingredients for their health benefits claimed :

- For the Prebiotics : first for their positive action on digestion, and now some evaluation of their role on bone health by improving calcium absorption & the modulation of the nutritional intake and weight are in process.

- For the Probiotics : from digestive well-being to cancer protection...from antibiotics’ alternative to skin protection.

Then it is logical if they are facing more and more constraints both at the technical (stability in new complex formulation / environment, delivery...) and the regulatory (changes in the international rules) levels.

The aim of this workshop... As for the previous editions, Probiotech2009 will provide the last updated information on the use (industrial applications, regulation) of these functional ingredients and will answer practical industrials’ issues by a series of scientific- & technological-oriented conferences. Additionally as these friendly probiotics’ micro-organisms and the prebiotics’ non-soluble fibres are more and more considered together for their synergistic effects (the prebiotics having bifidogenic effect for example), we will talk about this important notion of Synbiotics, and how we could consider them in formulation to be incorporated in future marketable products.

This will be definitively the best opportunity to meet the right people (R&D & managing Director, regulatory consultant, microencapsulation experts) in one place and find business’ opportunities.

Organiser:

Gate2Tech are “scientific intermediary” involving an increasing community of research technology development performers, suppliers, and researchers, making available the right technology and expertise (especially in microencapsulation) in expanding markets.

Gate2Tech’s workshops & trade fair provide delegates with the latest technological information which is the best fit to their requirements in many sectors including cosmetics / personal care, pharmaceuticals, food / feed and textile.
